Find out what stress, hormones and time actually did
Your energy, your hormones, your thinking and your fitness are one connected system, and this pathway measures all of it as a set. Not to hand you a folder of numbers, but to answer the question you actually arrived with, and to point at the two levers with the strongest evidence in the longevity literature: fitness and strength, both of which you can change.
- I am 50, I have no energy, and my body feels like someone else's.
- I forget names and words more than I used to, and it scares me.
- Years of stress must have left a mark. I want to know what.
- I used to be fit. How much have I actually lost?
Every one of those is measurable, and measuring starts with a free call.
Function under real load, not just numbers at rest
Hormone panels read against your age and life stage
Cognitive and stress screening included, not treated as separate

Why these measurements matter
This pathway carries some of the strongest numbers in the longevity literature, and one honest boundary:
- Fitness is the strongest modifiable predictor known: in 122,007 adults, low fitness carried five times the mortality risk of elite fitness, a bigger factor than smoking or diabetes (Mandsager 2018)
- Strength predicts survival: across 139,691 people in 17 countries, every 5 kg of lower grip strength meant 16% higher mortality, a better predictor than blood pressure (Leong 2015)
- Hormone testing finds real, treatable disease. The honest limit: correcting a confirmed deficiency helps specific symptoms, while chasing 'optimal' levels inside normal ranges has no outcome evidence, and AION does not sell it
- Cognitive screening here uses instruments that detect mild impairment with 90% sensitivity, versus under 20% for the quick test most people have met (Nasreddine 2005). Most people who worry test normal, and hearing that from data beats wondering

How your body performs under load
Structure and function are different things. This covers function directly:
- Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (VO2 max) for real fitness capacity
- Grip strength and functional strength testing
- Body composition, including muscle mass, fat distribution and bone density

Reading your hormones against your stage of life
Hormonal panels are only useful when read in context, which is why a physician interprets them against your age, sex and life stage rather than a single reference range:
- Sex hormones including estradiol and testosterone
- Thyroid function
- DHEA-S and cortisol, relevant to stress and energy

Cognitive, stress and sleep screening
Cognitive performance, stress and sleep are assessed together, since each affects the others:
- Structured cognitive performance screening
- Burnout and chronic stress screening
- Sleep quality assessment
Questions about functional, hormonal & cognitive health
A cardiopulmonary exercise test that measures how efficiently your body uses oxygen under real physical load, giving a direct measure of fitness capacity rather than an estimate.
Sex hormones such as estradiol and testosterone, thyroid function, and DHEA-S and cortisol, all read against your age and life stage by a physician.
It is included where your history or initial consultation suggests it is relevant, alongside stress and sleep screening, since the three commonly affect each other.
Sometimes, and testing settles it either way. Thyroid disease and genuine sex hormone deficiency are real, treatable causes worth finding. What AION will not do is promise that 'balancing' hormones already in the normal range restores energy, because trials show it does not, and will not use marketing constructs like adrenal fatigue, which is not a medical diagnosis.
