Cancer screening, for people who would rather know
Nobody books screening casually. There is a worry underneath it, usually one you have carried for a while, and the honest answer to it is hospital-grade imaging and labs matched to your actual risk, read by a physician who explains every result in person. Not a scan menu. A plan, starting with a free call.
- I want to catch it while it can still be cured.
- I watched my mother be diagnosed too late. I refuse to repeat that.
- I smoked for twenty years, and I am scared of what is sitting in my lungs.
- I would rather know than keep lying awake wondering.
Screening done honestly means two things: the tests with proven benefit for your risk profile, and being told what a finding means, and what it does not, before the first scan.

What screening can honestly promise
The evidence is test-by-test, and AION follows it rather than scanning everything on principle:
- For long-term smokers, low-dose CT is one of the best-proven screens in medicine: 20% fewer lung cancer deaths across 53,454 people in the landmark trial (NLST 2011)
- Expert dermatoscopic skin assessment is roughly fifteen times more diagnostically powerful for melanoma than a naked-eye look (Vestergaard 2008)
- Full-body MRI has proven value where personal risk is genuinely high. In average-risk adults, honestly, around a third of scans surface incidental findings, most of which prove harmless after workup
- Which is why every result here is triaged by a physician willing to say: this we act on, this we watch, this we ignore, and here is why

Hospital-grade imaging
The imaging suite covers structure from head to toe, using the same class of equipment you would expect in a leading hospital:
- MRI: Siemens MAGNETOM Flow, for whole-body and targeted imaging
- CT for structural and cardiac imaging
- Digital X-ray: AGFA DR 400 radiography system
- Ultrasound: Siemens ACUSON Juniper, for breast, thyroid, carotid, liver and vascular assessment

Screening matched to your risk, not a blanket protocol
Cancer screening at AION is set by your age, sex, family history and personal risk factors, not applied the same way to everyone:
- Breast, thyroid and abdominal screening pathways
- Vectra WB360, full-body 3D skin imaging that maps the entire skin surface in one capture
- Baselines that make change measurable at your next visit

Laboratory panels
Blood work at AION goes deeper than a standard panel, and none of it is left as a number on a page:
- Full blood count and comprehensive metabolic panel
- Genetic testing where your plan calls for it
- Autoimmune and toxicology panels where relevant
- Longitudinal tracking, so your results are compared with your own baseline over time
Questions about imaging, cancer screening & laboratory medicine
MRI, CT, digital X-ray and ultrasound, full-body 3D skin imaging with Vectra WB360, age and risk-matched cancer screening, and laboratory panels including genetics, autoimmune and toxicology testing.
No. Your physician selects what makes sense for you based on your consultation and history. Diagnostics serve the plan, not the other way around.
Your physician sits with you and goes through every result in plain language: what is fine, what needs attention, and what it means for your plan.
A full-body 3D imaging system that photographs your entire skin surface in a single capture, creating a precise baseline that future scans are compared against.
No screening test can promise that, and AION will not pretend otherwise. What screening honestly offers is earlier detection for the cancers each test is proven to find, matched to your risk profile. The other half of honest screening is restraint: not every finding needs chasing, and your physician tells you which is which.
